Comma Type · Anna Cairns · 2026

A geometric sans rooted in Futura's 1924 sketches but redesigned for improved legibility, with three distinct OpenType letterform sets covering arched, stylised and inclusive variants.
About
Designed by Anna Cairns and released in 2026, it departs from revival territory by pushing Futura's geometry further: x-height is raised, corners are slightly cut and strokes are made as monolinear as possible. Three switchable OpenType letterform modes let designers toggle between right-angled classical forms, arched conventional shapes and an inclusive set that eliminates mirrored letters to aid distinction. Available as individual Regular and Regular Italic cuts or as a variable font; additional weights are planned for later in 2026.
Classification
Explicitly geometric sans serif in the Futura lineage, with strictly monolinear strokes and circle-based constructions; the foundry describes it as geometric sans with enhanced consistency over Renner's original sketches.
