Commercial Type · Paul Barnes

Paul Barnes's Anglo modern at the heart of Commercial Classics, drawn from Elizabeth Caslon's late 18th century types and extended from a roman to a black with hairline cuts for the largest sizes.
About
A modern serif by Paul Barnes that sets itself up as the Anglo response to the modern style defined by the continental masters Bodoni and Didot. Based on designs first cut for Elizabeth Caslon at the end of the eighteenth century, Commercial Classics expanded it to a range of weights and optical sizes: from a roman to an emphatic black, and from text to a hairline for the largest sizes. Elegant yet hardworking, it sits at the heart of the first Commercial Classics releases and is suited to fashion, editorial and identity work that wants a British accent on the modern.
Classification
