Graphik Armenian specimen from Commercial Type

Khajag Apelian's Armenian companion to Graphik, with reduced x-height and contextual alternates tuned to the script.

About

An Armenian companion to Graphik by Khajag Apelian. The original concept of a blank-slate, vanilla sans is translated to Armenian with different vertical proportions to the Latin, reducing the x-height and lengthening descenders so the script feels balanced both on its own and in multilingual settings. Stroke endings and letter elements traditionally considered fundamental on letters like Za, Eh and Jheh have been simplified, with contextual alternates handling the trade-off between traditional structure and distracting collisions. Nine weights with italics make it a strong pick for editorial systems and brands working across Armenian and Latin.

Classification

Commercial Type frame Graphik Armenian as Khajag Apelian's adaptation of Graphik's vanilla concept to Armenian, with simplified stroke endings and contextual alternates to keep the script working at the same plain register as the Latin.
