Orientation specimen from Commercial Type

A geometric sans by Sandrine Nugue that started life as a stencil wayfinding system for a student dormitory in Roubaix and grew into three weights with italics.

About

A geometric stencil sans by Sandrine Nugue, originally commissioned by Paris designer Thanh Phong Le to be fabricated as wayfinding stencils for a new student dormitory in Roubaix. Six styles cover Light, Regular and Bold with matching italics. As the weight progresses, the forms become more abstract and push the bounds of legibility, but read surprisingly well in running words. Suits architectural, environmental and display work that wants a constructed, fabricated voice.
