Haas Recast specimen from Dalton Maag

A variable-font revival of the 1950s Haas grotesque by Miedinger and Hoffmann, with Weight, Width, Italic and Tracking axes.

About

A grotesque sans by Eduardo Rennó that revives a 1950s Haas Type Foundry design by Max Miedinger and Eduard Hoffmann, the lineage that led to Helvetica. Dalton Maag's update is built as a variable font with Weight, Width, Italic and Tracking axes, which makes it more flexible than its forebear while keeping the calm Swiss neutrality that draws people to grotesques in the first place.

Classification

Dalton Maag classifies Haas Recast as a revival of a classic faux-Swiss grotesque sans typeface originally designed in the 1950s by Max Miedinger and Eduard Hoffmann for the Haas Type Foundry, updated as a variable font with Weight, Width, Italic and Tracking axes.
