Letter Gothic Recast specimen from Dalton Maag

A variable-font revival of Roger Roberson's IBM Letter Gothic, now monospace with Slant and Weight axes from Hairline to Black.

About

A monospace revival by Samir Reis, Emanuela Conidi, Bruno Mello and Natalia Qadreh of the humanist typewriter face Roger Roberson drew for IBM in the 1950s. Dalton Maag's update keeps the typewriter character but turns it into a variable font with a Slant axis and a Weight axis running from Hairline to Black. Sits well in code, technical typography, editorial captions and identity systems wanting machine-age authenticity with modern range.

Classification

Dalton Maag classifies Letter Gothic Recast as a revival of the classic humanist sans typewriter typeface originally designed by Roger Roberson for IBM in the 1950s, fully updated as a monospace variable font with Slant and Weight axes from Hairline to Black.
