Jubilat specimen from Darden Studio

A Clarendon-style slab serif by Josh Darden spanning twelve weights, designed for headlines, decks and sidebars with generous curves and high contrast.

About

Released in 2008 and honoured by the TDC, Jubilat draws on the history of the Clarendon slab to build a 24-style family running from Hairline to Black with matching italics throughout. A large lowercase, high stroke contrast and efficient spacing in both axes make it equally at home in editorial hierarchies and political campaign materials. Its client list includes Bernie Sanders' website, Politico and Monday Design.

Classification

Darden Studio explicitly classifies Jubilat as a slab serif in the Clarendon style, characterised by bracketed serifs, high contrast and a large lowercase — all features consistent with that 19th-century tradition.
