Designed by Dominik Thieme and released in 2024, Aether uses the /n stem interval to set a consistent rhythmic cadence across all characters, producing a cohesive spatial unity without optical irregularity. Two sub-families distinguish the approach: Aether A retains bold, uncompensated brackets and joints, while Aether B incorporates optical corrections for greater legibility. The family ships with 1,091 glyphs, 28 OpenType features including swash variants, discretionary ligatures and stylistic sets for fractions and encircled numerals, making it well suited to scientific publishing, data design and rationalist editorial work.
