Designed by Jeff Kellem after Mark VandeWettering raised the question of whether a digital font existed that recalled the IBM 1403 line printer, it began with just 48 glyphs from the original 'A' chain and was gradually extended through research into modified chains. The Limited edition covers the basic Latin complement with small capitals standing in for lowercase; the Pro edition expands to 366 Latin-based languages plus Cyrillic, Greek and Hebrew, and includes OpenType features such as alternative fractions, stylistic alternates, historical forms and an extensive set of symbols and dingbats. Suited to display use on covers and film titles, and at text sizes it reads naturally in columns and grids where an official or archival tone is wanted.
