Originally released in 2004, Amador draws on the littera oxoniensis tradition filtered through the Arts and Crafts movement and the influence of Frederic Goudy and Rudolf Koch. Parkinson refined the design over a prolific career producing blackletter nameplates for newspapers, giving the face a practical authority rare in revival blackletters. Version 2.2 expands the glyph set to over 1,000 glyphs across 336 languages, including Vietnamese, African and Oceanian scripts, alongside swash variants, ligatures, catchwords and OpenType fractions.
