Rooted in a specific lapidary inscription from Thessaloniki's archaeology museum, Loniki balances rational geometry with sinuous curves that recall the cultural crossroads of late antiquity. Extensive OpenType features, including discretionary ligatures and stylistic alternates, allow designers to shift the cultural register of a layout from classical to gothic without changing the font. A companion Symbols file adds over 140 ornaments, astronomical and alchemical devices, and Futhark runes. Winner of an Indigo Design Awards 2024 Gold in Typography.
