Designed by Kathryn Podorsky and inspired by a letter penned by her great-great-grandfather in 1895, the typeface channels the flowing elegance of period handwriting into a digital format. Its Latin-based character set covers 310 languages and is accompanied by contextual and stylistic alternates, swash variants, oldstyle figures and calligraphic word forms driven by OpenType logic. The name refers to Henry Swinburne's 1686 phrase for the vein reputedly running from the fourth finger directly to the heart.
