ABC Camera specimen from Dinamo Typefaces

A neutral grotesque that scales up 60s and 70s TV light traps as visible holes, with a Plain version and matching mono.

About

A grotesque by Johannes Breyer, Fabian Harb, Fabiola Mejia and Sascha Bente that turns the light traps once used to keep TV text readable into a feature, scaling them up into visible holes. A Plain cut without the holes is provided alongside, and both versions run across five weights with italics plus a monospaced sibling. Sits close to Helvetica in tone but with freer proportions and a narrower body.

Classification

Dinamo describes Camera as a reinterpretation of light traps used in 1960s and 1970s television to keep text readable through screen blur, scaled up as 'holes' and offered alongside a Plain version without them.
