ABC Schengen
Dinamo Typefaces · Seb McLauchlan with Luke Charsley

A nine-family, vibes-based system across A/B/C widths plus Core, Line, Zone and three monos, riffing on Helvetica and Eurostile across Latin, Cyrillic and Greek.
About
An expansive system by Seb McLauchlan with Luke Charsley, planned and built over six years. ABC Schengen takes the Eurozone's logistics and infrastructure typography as cue and slides Schengen A, B and C along a shared width axis from soft Helvetica towards boxy Eurostile, with monospaced equivalents that lean closer to Aldo Novarese than Max Miedinger. Beyond the core trio, Schengen Zone adds chiselled serifs, Schengen Line smooths and tensions the geometry, and Schengen Core rebuilds on a smaller footprint. Nine weights with italics, all sharing structural dimensions, covering Latin, Cyrillic and Greek. Graphics by Johannes Breyer, Seb McLauchlan, Mimi Schmidl, Asel Tambay and Barnaby Mills; spacing and kerning by Igino Marini.
Classification
Dinamo describe ABC Schengen as a multi-genre collection inspired by the Eurozone's visual language of cross-border, free-flowing logistics, manufacturing and construction. Soft Helvetica and boxy Eurostile sit in the background as 'spirit animals', with a width axis sliding between Schengen A, B and C; the monos lean closer to Aldo Novarese than Max Miedinger.
