Bingo specimen from Dinamo Typefaces

A polygon-contoured wood type revival by Johannes Breyer, first released in 2011 and based on a specimen from Rob Roy Kelly's American Wood Type.

About

Drawn with polygonal inner and outer contours, the letterforms appear smooth at small sizes but reveal an angular, brutal structure when set large. The design traces back to a sample in Rob Roy Kelly's American Wood Type: 1829–1900 and was Breyer's first typeface, released while interning at NORM via a purpose-built website. A second set of monolinear, thin punctuation was added in 2012, and the family includes a condensed variant.

Classification

Derived from American wood type specimens, with polygon-drawn inner and outer contours that produce a rough, blocky character at large sizes — firmly in the display category with a vernacular wood type lineage.
