Gaisyr specimen from Dinamo Typefaces

A serif with Dinamo's signature Butterfly Serifs, drawing on Jacques Jaugeon's early 18th-century royal geometric type sketches across proportional, semi-mono and mono variants.

About

Designed by Fabian Harb with Michelangelo Nigra, Gaisyr holds a deliberate tension between strict geometric construction and loose, hand-held letter forms. The family spans seven weights from Thin to Black with matching italics, and comes in three spacing variants: proportional, semi-monospaced and fully monospaced. Latin, Cyrillic and Greek coverage, plus OpenType features including swashes, discretionary ligatures and small caps, make it unusually well-equipped for editorial and international work.

Classification

Gaisyr features distinctive 'Butterfly Serifs' rooted in early 18th-century geometric constructions by Jacques Jaugeon, blending strict geometric underpinnings with calligraphic gestures — placing it closest to a transitional serif with display sensibilities.
