Walter
Dinamo Typefaces · Renan Rosatti, Arnaud Chemin, Simon Mager, Leonardo Azzolini

A joint scholarly project by Dinamo and Omnigroup reviving the letterform teaching tools of Swiss type educator Walter Käch, extended into a fully contemporary grotesque family.
About
Walter Alte offers three faithfully revived cuts drawn directly from Käch's mid-century pedagogical drawings, ranging from the high-contrast Röntgentherapie to the constructed monolinear Normalgrotesk. Walter Neue departs from strict revival to offer fourteen styles across seven weights with italics and stylistic alternates, softening the source material with rounded punctuation and friendlier proportions suited to text and display use. Walter Neue Mono mirrors the Neue family in a monospaced variant, completing a three-branch system that runs from historical study to functional contemporary type.
Classification
Walter spans faithful revivals of Walter Käch's mid-century letterform teaching tools (Walter Alte) and a contemporary grotesque extension (Walter Neue), both rooted in Swiss grotesque tradition with varying degrees of contrast and construction.
