Mesh specimen from Diorama Type Partners

A display typeface drawn from 3D sculptural letters originally built for a video game, referencing machine-legible computrice aesthetics and Vasarely's geometric world.

About

Designed by Marie-Mam Sai Bellier and published by Diorama Type Partners in 2023, Mesh originates from letter-sculptures created for the Diorama No.2 publication's accompanying video game, set in a geometric city inspired by Victor Vasarely. The 2D OTF version is derived by applying a consistent vanishing point to those 3D forms, producing a typeface dense with bevels that recall systematic modernism pushed to an absurd extreme. Each licence includes both the 2D and 3D versions, with the latter supplied as a Blender file.

Classification

Mesh is a geometric display typeface derived from 3D sculptural forms, referencing machine-readable typefaces (computrices) and science-fiction aesthetics; it sits firmly in the display category due to its extreme stylisation and perspective-driven bevel construction.
