Dazzed specimen from Displaay Type Foundry

A narrow grotesque by Martin Vacha drawn for a cinematic project, mixing comic, dramatic and technical letterforms.

About

A narrow sans by Martin Vacha released August 2016. Seven weights run from Thin to Heavy with matching italics, fourteen styles total, plus a two-axis variable cut on Weight and Slant. The italic sits at 18 degrees by default with lower angles available via the variable file. Letterforms shift between comic, dramatic and quirky moments in a, e, C, G and technical, cold sci-fi cut-offs in t, f and r. Rounded accent dots sit against squared punctuation for clearer recognition.

Classification

Displaay class Dazzed under sans / grotesque. Narrow proportions, originally drawn as a bespoke face for a cinematic project meant to span comic, grotesque, dramatic, technical, action, crime and sci-fi tones. Cut-off terminals on t, f and r contrast classical letterforms elsewhere.
