Hellix
Displaay Type Foundry · Martin Vacha · 2011

The original #ellix sans by Martin Vacha, geometric and mono-linear, with circle forms punched into stems and diagonal terminals.
About
A geometric sans by Martin Vacha first sketched October 2011 and released June 2014. Eight weights run from Thin to Black with matching italics, sixteen styles total, plus a two-axis variable cut on Weight and Slant. As the ancestor of the #ellix system, Hellix punches circle forms into vertical stems and finishes with diagonal terminals, a counterpoint to siblings Fellix, Gellix and Yellix.
Classification
Displaay class Hellix under sans / grotesque. Mono-linear geometric sans, the original ancestor of the #ellix system. Circle forms are punched into vertical stems and terminals are diagonal. Drawn during an internship at the UMPRUM Type Design and Typography Studio.
