Displaay Type Foundry · Martin Vacha · 2015

About
A geometric sans-serif by Martin Vacha, first sketched in October 2011 and released in August 2015. Eight weights and sixteen styles, with a two-axis variable font on Weight and Slant. Yellix has horizontal or vertical terminals with circle forms punched into the stems, and stylistic sets that swap in cooler, less geometric alternatives for a, g, m, n, r and t. It sits in the #ellix family alongside Hellix, Gellix and Fellix, each carrying a different combination of terminal cut and circle-to-stem connection.
Classification
Displaay places Yellix in the #ellix family alongside Hellix (the original ancestor with circle forms punched into vertical stems and diagonal terminals), Gellix (horizontal or vertical terminals, gracefully connected circles) and Fellix (gracefully connected circles with diagonal terminals).
