A sci-fi display typeface built on horizontal, vertical and 45-degree strokes, referencing the typography seen in the OVA 'Yukikaze'.
About
Constructed exclusively from horizontal, vertical and 45-degree straight lines, FA-1 distils the sci-fi elements from an earlier Dot Colon typeface, F5.6, into a standalone design. Large corner radii soften what would otherwise be a rigid, mechanical feel, lending it a quality reminiscent of low-resolution bitmap fonts. The design draws direct reference from lettering used in the OVA 'Sentou Yousei Yukikaze', redrawn from scratch with legibility in mind.
Classification
FA-1 uses only horizontal, vertical and 45-degree straight lines as its skeletal structure, with large corner radii, giving it a sci-fi bitmap aesthetic that places it firmly in the display/geometric category.
