Autaut Grotesk
Due Studio · Alessio Pompadura · 2021

A neo-grotesque from Alessio Pompadura that pairs Swiss modernist geometry with sharp, angular terminals for a composed but tense letterform.
About
Released in 2021, the typeface takes 1960s Swiss modernism as its starting point but introduces angular connections between curves and stems that give individual letters a sharpness not typical of the tradition. Five weights run from Regular to Black, and seven stylistic sets allow for adaptation across different design contexts. Over 730 glyphs cover Latin Extended-A, making it suitable for Western, Central and South Western European languages as well as Afrikaans.
Classification
Explicitly described as neo-grotesque, drawing on 1960s Swiss modernist typographic standards with geometric construction and organic, sharp-cut terminals.
