Decay
Due Studio · Alessio Pompadura · 2020

A high-contrast display serif by Alessio Pompadura drawing on Decadent Movement aesthetics, with pointed serifs, dramatic ligatures and a variable axis controlling serif angles.
About
Released in 2020 as a single weight called Decay White, the family offers two serif cut styles, Std and Alt, alongside a variable font in which the serif angles can be adjusted across a continuous axis. Sinuous curves meet eccentric pointed terminals and multi-letter ligatures in a design that sits somewhere between decorative and functional. With 450+ glyphs covering Latin Extended-A, it suits editorial headlines and display contexts where an unsettling, fin-de-siècle register is wanted.
Classification
Described as a modern serif with eccentric pointed serifs, sinuous curves and drastic ligatures; variable serif-angle axis and high contrast make it firmly a display typeface despite some claimed text utility.
