Nodo specimen from Due Studio

A monospaced display typeface built on a modular grid, where rotated and repositioned units produce forms that shift between soft and angular.

About

Designed by Alessio Pompadura and Massimiliano Vitti and first released in 2017, Nodo draws on modular alphabet geometries to construct a monospaced grid-based display face. The rotation and placement of modules within the grid generates varied letterforms, some rounded and sinuous, others rigid and squared, producing a rhythmic contrast between black and white areas. Stylistic sets extend the expressive range, and the face maintains legibility even at smaller sizes despite its experimental construction.

Classification

Nodo is a modular display typeface with a monospaced grid structure; its geometric construction and expressive rhythm of forms place it firmly in the display category with a geometric modular subcategory.
