Slack
Due Studio · Massimiliano Vitti · 2020

A single-weight contemporary serif by Massimiliano Vitti whose elastic serif terminals mimic the flex of slackline webbing underfoot.
About
Designed by Massimiliano Vitti and released in 2020, Slack draws its formal logic from the movement of slackline webbing, translating that oscillating tension into curved, elastic serifs with tight apertures. Available only in Light, the family compensates for its narrow weight range with over 530 glyphs and twenty stylistic sets that shift the character between rounded classicism and sharper, edgier alternates. Coverage extends across Latin Extended-A, supporting Western, Central and South-Western European languages plus Afrikaans.
Classification
Described by the foundry as a contemporary serif with tight apertures and elastic serif construction; sits between classical serif tradition and expressive, idiosyncratic alternates.
