Rooted in Charles Coiner's alphabet of heavy art deco forms created for the National Recovery Administration in the 1930s, this revival works back through Benton's Eagle Bold to deliver a denser, more even wall of black than foundry type allowed. Benton's original letterforms have been adjusted for greater typographic intensity, and small caps have been added to give titles additional weight. Best suited to headlines and display work where a blunt, authoritative presence is required.
