Tekst
East of Rome · Lewis McGuffie

A three-family text type drawn from the Soviet Literaturnaya, split across print, screen and mono variants with Latin, Cyrillic and Greek coverage.
About
Designed by Lewis McGuffie, Tekst takes Literaturnaya, the pervasive Soviet text typeface, as its starting point rather than a direct revival source. The family splits into Tekst A for print and Tekst D for screen, engineered to produce visually equivalent results in their respective environments at 9-12pt reading sizes, with Tekst M offering a monospaced companion. Each family runs to four styles, and the full collection covers over 1,000 characters across Latin, Cyrillic and Greek.
Classification
Based on Literaturnaya, a Soviet-era transitional text type, Tekst retains the upright, sturdy letterforms typical of mid-century Eastern European text serifs with moderate contrast and bracketed serifs.
