Tusker Pro specimen from East of Rome

A duplexed display grotesk in nine widths, designed by Lewis McGuffie for maximum impact in headlines and logos at large sizes.

About

Nine width families, each containing four duplexed weights from Medium to Super, give Tusker Pro unusual flexibility for setting dense, space-efficient display copy across Latin, Cyrillic and Greek. Duplexing means weight changes do not alter character width, allowing layouts to swap weights without reflowing. Originally released as Tusker Grotesk in 2017, the Pro update brings expanded script coverage, a larger symbol set and reworked metrics.

Classification

A duplexed display grotesk built explicitly for headlines and logos, with nine widths and a massive x-height optimised for space efficiency at large sizes. The multi-width, duplexed structure and loud-first intent place it firmly in the display grotesque category.
