Mukta Family

A free, multi-script type family spanning Devanagari, Gujarati, Tamil, Gurmukhi, Kannada, Odia and Latin, built on a shared visual grammar that keeps each script distinct.
About
Part of EK Type's ongoing Ek Multi Script project, Mukta establishes a common visual language across seven Indic scripts and Latin without allowing any one script's conventions to dominate. Each subfamily — Mukta, Mukta Vaani, Mukta Malar and Mukta Mahee — pairs a specific Indic script with Latin and runs across seven weights. The libre-licensed fonts have seen real-world use in environments demanding legibility at scale, including Mumbai Airport signage and Facebook India.
Classification
Mukta is a multi-script sans-serif designed around a shared visual grammar across Indic and Latin scripts, with humanist proportions suited to text use across diverse writing systems.
