Imbue
ETC Typefaces · 2018

A variable serif with weight and optical size axes, released in 2018 and now freely available under an Open Font License via Google Fonts and GitHub.
About
Built around two variable axes — weight and optical size — it ranges from hairline serifs at the thinnest settings to bolder, more substantial strokes, across nine named weights. The optical size axis spans text-optimised to display-optimised styles, though the foundry actively encourages mixing them out of their intended contexts. Its character coverage extends to broad Latin Extended, with OpenType features included.
Classification
Imbue is a serif with crisp, curvy letterforms and hairline serifs at thin weights, designed with both text and display optical sizes, placing it firmly in the display serif category with variable font capabilities.
