Originally released in 2018 as a purely monospaced typeface, Sono gained a variable mono axis in 2022 that allows the letterforms to slide between monospaced and proportional spacing. The proportional styles are grouped under the Sans prefix. Available as static desktop and web fonts or as a single variable font, it is distributed free via Google Fonts and GitHub under the SIL Open Font License.
