On a mission to create the world's biggest index of typefaces from the world's best type foundries

monoquasi-proportional monocondensed

A quasi-proportional sans derived from League Mono, available as a variable font with condensed and expanded widths across eight weights.

About

Trispace began as a rework of League Mono, retaining the rhythm and character of monospaced type while allowing the narrowest and widest glyphs to deviate slightly from a fixed cell width. The result is more readable than a strict monospace without losing its technical, code-adjacent feel. Released in 2018 and now distributed via Google Fonts under the Open Font License, it spans 24 static styles plus a single variable font covering weight and width axes.

Classification

Trispace descends from League Mono but deliberately abandons strict monospacing, allowing narrow and wide glyphs to take slightly more or less space than the standard cell. This places it in a quasi-proportional or 'duospace' category adjacent to traditional monospaced fonts.
