F37 Elastica Serif
F37 Foundry · Ryan Williamson, Rick Banks · 2025

A bracketed slab serif with ball terminals, sibling to Elastica Sans across eight widths from Expanded to Ultra Compressed.
About
A bracketed slab serif by Ryan Williamson and Rick Banks, sister to F37 Elastica Sans on a shared skeleton. Single weight across eight widths from Expanded through Regular down to Ultra Compressed. Moderate contrast and indulgent ball terminals add a more sophisticated voice than the utilitarian sans, and the narrower widths push how compressed a serif can get while still holding texture. Small caps, ligatures and stylistic alternates included. Designed to be used interchangeably with Elastica Sans within a single composition.
Classification
F37 describes Elastica Serif as a bracketed slab serif with moderate contrast and indulgent ball terminals, drawn on the same skeleton as Elastica Sans, with eight widths from Expanded to Ultra Compressed and OpenType features including small caps, ligatures and stylistic alternates.
