FDI Neumeister
FDI Type Foundry · Ludwig Wagner type foundry, Ralf Herrmann · 2021

A free revival of a 1930s Ludwig Wagner blackletter, released in two variants covering traditional German typesetting and modernised international use.
About
Revived by Ralf Herrmann and released under the Open Font License, FDI Neumeister draws on the Deutschmeister family originally cut at the Ludwig Wagner type foundry in the 1930s. The family splits into two styles: Neumeister A preserves the traditional blackletter character, while Neumeister B offers a modernised approach with improved legibility for non-German contexts. Around 400 glyphs cover Western, Eastern and Central European Latin, with alternative glyphs accessible via OpenType-savvy applications.
