Sebastian Nagel spent six years reworking the lettering found on a 1562 cartographic map by Diego Gutiérrez and Hieronymus Cock into a fully functional digital typeface. The result is a four-member family comprising regular, bold, italic and script styles, supported by nearly 3,700 characters covering Latin Extended ranges. An extensive OpenType feature set includes small caps, multiple figure sets, contextual alternates, localized forms, stylistic sets for arrows and historic variations, and embedded vector illustrations for full-family purchasers.
