Parnaso specimen from Feliciano Type

A five-optical-size old-style revival rooted in late 19th-century Elzévir specimens, with vivid baroque italics and swash titling capitals suited to editorial and advertising work.

About

Drawing directly from the Fonderie Gustave Mayeur's 1894 and 1912 Elzévir specimen albums, the family translates that first wave of Old Style revivals into a contemporary magazine and advertising tool. Capital letters retain the geometric spirit of Didot but replace hairline serifs with sturdy wedge forms, while the condensed lowercase offers a distinctive type colour. Sixty styles span five optical sizes from Petit to Hairline, each in six weights with matching italics, plus a monospaced companion in Regular and Italic.

Classification

Parnaso is rooted in late 19th-century revivals of Old Style Roman types, specifically the Elzévir tradition as shown in Fonderie Gustave Mayeur specimens, placing it firmly in the humanist old-style serif category with baroque italic influences.
