Rongel specimen from Feliciano Type

A text serif drawn from the 18th-century types of Spanish punch cutter Francisco Rongel, part of Feliciano Type's Iberian historical series.

About

Based on types documented in the 1799 Madrid specimen book of the Imprenta Real, Rongel revives the work of Francisco Rongel in three weights from Regular to Bold with matching italics. Its well-defined letterforms make it equally at home in running text and display settings. The family sits alongside Eudald News, Merlo and Geronimo as part of Feliciano Type's ongoing series of Iberian historical revivals.

Classification

Inspired by 18th-century types from Spanish punch cutter Francisco Rongel, placing it firmly in the transitional serif tradition of Baroque-era Iberian typography.
