Designed at Feliciano Type and released in 2025, Statius takes Wolpe's Albertus as its starting point but deliberately abandons some of its most recognisable features, including the lowercase a and the uppercase M and R. The italic was drawn independently of the roman and includes a small set of swash capitals inspired by Wolpe's own work. Six weights with matching italics and a large character set make up the 12-style family.

Statius is a reinterpretation of Berthold Wolpe's Albertus, a glyphic or lapidary serif with incised, chisel-cut letterforms rather than conventional calligraphic stress. The flared terminals and carved quality place it firmly in the glyphic category.
