Benton Sans distils the proportions and rhythm of News Gothic into a contemporary system with nine weights across three widths — Regular, Condensed and Compressed. It became a standard-bearer for American newspaper sans-serif typography and remains widely used in editorial and corporate design. Rights have been redistributed to original designers following Font Bureau's library sale.
