Postamp Grotesk
Fontfabric · Ivelina Martinova · 2026

A condensed geometric sans drawn from early American stamp lettering, with a variable width axis that selectively widens individual letterforms as visual accents within condensed text.
About
Designed by Ivelina Martinova and released in January 2026, the family takes its starting point from a U.S. postage stamp bearing President James Buchanan's portrait and expands outward through early American type specimens from the 1920s and 30s. Five weights run in two cuts each: a fully condensed version and a Mixed cut where letters such as B, C, G, M, O and R carry expanded widths alongside otherwise condensed forms. A variable font covers both weight and width axes, and the character set includes Extended Latin and Cyrillic.
Classification
A condensed geometric sans with grotesk characteristics, drawing from early American type specimens and stamp lettering. The variable width axis and selectively expanded letterforms place it firmly in the geometric-grotesk tradition.
