Slovic specimen from Fontfabric

A Cyrillic display family by Plamen Motev that traces a stylistic arc from Old Church Slavonic scripts through to a clean sans-serif, all within one family.

About

Drawing on Ustav (Cyrillic uncial) and Vyaz (ornate lettering), the six-style family moves through historic, serif, slab, semi-serif and sans-serif forms, with a variable font tying the progression together. It covers Extended Latin and Cyrillic, with OpenType features and stylistic sets suited to heritage branding, book covers and cultural event material. The concept of a single family spanning such a wide stylistic range is unusual and gives designers a built-in contrast system rooted in Slavic typographic history.

Classification

Slovic is a display family rooted in Old Church Slavonic scripts such as Ustav and Vyaz, progressing stylistically through historic, serif, slab, semi-serif and sans-serif forms, making it primarily a display type system with historical and decorative intent.
