Designed by Satya Rajpurohit, Author spans six weights from Extralight to Bold, each with a matching italic, plus variable font files. The uppercase letters are broadly monolinear while the lowercase carries visible stroke contrast, and the stroke terminals cut diagonally in reference to humanist calligraphic forms. Double-storey 'a' and 'g' appear in the uprights, with single-storey alternates available via OpenType, while the italics use single-storey forms throughout.
