Bespoke Slab
Fontshare · Jérémie Hornus, Théo Guillard, Morgane Pambrun, Alisa Nowak, Joachim Vu · 2021

A humanist slab serif from Indian Type Foundry with five weights, matching italics and a variable axis, built around open counterforms and diagonal stroke endings drawn from broad-pen calligraphy.
About
Designed by a five-person team at ITF and released via Fontshare in 2021, Bespoke Slab uses large open counterforms to keep text legible across sizes, from body copy to poster work. Ascender tops cut at diagonal shears carry a subtle calligraphic reference through every weight, and the italic cuts swap double-storey 'a' and 'g' for single-storey forms. Proportionally-spaced oldstyle figures sit comfortably alongside the lowercase, making the family well suited to editorial, branding and wayfinding contexts.
Classification
Classified as a slab serif by the foundry itself; humanist in character with broad-pen references, open counterforms and diagonal stroke terminals typical of humanist slab construction.
