Designed by Ruosi Huang and released via Fontshare in October 2021, Boxing draws on the reverse-contrast letterforms found on Wild West-era American posters and mid-19th-century European printing, as well as the psychedelic graphics of the 1960s and 70s. All letters are wide and extended, with the horizontal elements and serifs carrying an exaggerated weight that inverts conventional stroke logic. The single Regular style suits poster headlines, flyers, logo work and editorial display settings where a bold historical reference is needed.
Classification
Boxing uses heavy horizontal strokes that exceed the vertical strokes, a defining trait of reverse-contrast type. Its extended, wide letterforms and extreme serif weight place it squarely in the western or latin display tradition.
