Chillax specimen from Fontshare

A geometric sans-serif by Manushi Parikh whose lowercase letterforms derive directly from Herbert Bayer's 1926 Universal alphabet, with an added uppercase and Bauhaus-referencing OpenType alternates.

About

Designed for display and headline use, Chillax takes the constructivist geometry of the Bauhaus as its structural foundation, with lowercase forms modelled on Bayer's Universal alphabet and additional stylistic alternates that replicate the lettering from the Dessau Bauhaus building signage. Six static weights run from Extralight to Bold, supplemented by a variable font with a continuous weight axis, and OpenType features offer rounder alternate forms for a broad set of uppercase and lowercase characters. With 443 glyphs per font and support for over 135 Latin-script languages, it suits editorial, poster and brand work where a clean modernist sensibility is wanted.

Classification

A geometric sans-serif with explicit Bauhaus lineage, its lowercase drawn after Herbert Bayer's 1926 Universal alphabet, placing it squarely in the geometric/constructivist tradition.
