Chubbo's slab serifs end in rounded terminals across all five weights, lending the family a soft and approachable quality at poster and headline sizes. Its italics are a distinct contribution from type designer Rafał Buchner: rather than sloped versions of the upright forms, they are redrawn in a more cursive style that retains the feel of a pen stroke. OpenType alternates provide single-storey forms for the 'g' and 'y', and open-loop descender variants for the italic cuts.
