Comico
Fontshare · Frode Helland · 2021

An all-caps comic-book lettering font by Norwegian designer Frode Helland, with nearly 1,000 contextual alternates to mimic natural handwriting variation.
About
Designed by Frode Helland, Comico draws on the lettering traditions of comic books, with all-caps forms that carry a slight left lean and counterforms drawn with straight lines. Its principal feature is a large set of ligatures and alternate glyphs, activated via the OpenType contextual alternates feature, which introduce the variation needed to avoid the mechanical repetition typical of single-weight handwriting fonts. At large sizes the letterforms read as deliberately pixelated, making it more a display novelty than a workhorse text face.
Classification
Fontshare categorises Comico as Handwritten. Its all-caps letterforms mimic comic-book lettering with a deliberate pixelated quality at large sizes, placing it firmly in the display/handwritten camp rather than a conventional script.
