Designed by Théo Guillard and released through Fontshare in 2021, Gambarino takes the Garalde genre as its starting point but pushes it in a post-modern direction suited to display settings. Its capital letters carry oversized bowls and counterforms in their upper halves, most visible in B, E, F, P and R, while the lowercase pairs a tall x-height with unusually short descenders. The exquisitely fine serifs and teardrop terminals on characters like a, f and y give it enough personality to headline alongside a conventional Garalde body face without competing with it.
