Kihim specimen from Fontshare

A single-weight display typeface by Hitesh Malaviya built on an extreme diagonal grid, conceived as a typographic homage to Indian artist Nasreen Mohamedi.

About

Every letterform in Kihim is set on a sharp clockwise angle, with stroke terminals that echo that tilt to produce a rotalic effect as though each character has been physically rotated. The design draws directly from Mohamedi's grid-based drawings, in which intervals between lines carry as much weight as the lines themselves. At small sizes text can appear abstract or illegible; as the eye adjusts to the rhythm of thick and thin diagonals, the letterforms resolve, much as Mohamedi's own compositions reward sustained looking.

Classification

Categorised explicitly as Display by Fontshare; a single-weight decorative typeface built on an extreme diagonal grid with rotalic letterforms, making it purely ornamental and unsuited to any text role.
